  • Cut the acorn squash in half and scoop out the seeds and strings from the center using a spoon.

  • Brush the mixture evenly over the cut sides of the acorn squash halves.
  • Place the acorn squash halves, cut-side up, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  • Sprinkle the pecan halves over the top of each acorn squash half, pressing them gently into the flesh.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the acorn squash is tender and the pecans are toasted, basting the squash with the butter-maple mixture halfway through the cooking time.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
